One of the most common words of advice that is heard on a golf course is that a person’s golf swings are too fast. Because of the fast golf swings, the golfer can’t make consistent contact with the ball. This is true to a certain extent, but if you think about it, a golfer is better off making faster golf swings. Most amateur golfers will hit the ball inconsistently in wayward directions than anyway. If they swing slow, all that will do is decrease the distance that the ball travels. The ball is still going to go all over the place, but short. Instead, it’s better to hit the ball as hard as you can. At least in this way, you’ll be closer to the hole for the next shot.

Golf is much more about the person swinging the club than it is about the overall quality of your clubs. With that said, the best golf clubs help in some ways. There are many pros out there that swear by their clubs, so it makes sense that you should follow their lead. If you want advice on clubs, then know that golf clubs help the most when they are fitted right and they suit your swing.

You should first look to make sure that shafts on your clubs suit just how hard you swing. Too many players get shafts that are either too stiff or too loose, which means they miss shots when they should not. Equipment matters in today’s game at least some, so make sure that everything is fitted to your needs.

There are so many great sources for beginner golf instruction that it’s really amazing. You can study golf in person with a teacher, or if you don’t have the time or money for personal instruction it is now possible to find plenty of beginner golf instruction via DVDs or by surfing the internet. Because of all these great new learning resources, golfers are learning at a faster pace than ever before, and it’s not uncommon to hear about a new player handily beating a more experienced veteran. This is a trend that will probably continue as information becomes more and more available in the future.
